At a spring "den" check with West Virginia Division of Natural Resources personel

The Mountains are Calling and I Must Go.......

- John Muir

Welcome to Alderson Broaddus University Biology Department within the College of Science, Technology and Math (STM).  Within the Biology department, you can focus on a medical track or pursue a career in conservation or organismal biology.  That's where I come in.  Coming to ABU in 2014, with a background in Wildife Biology and Management, I took on the General Biology courses as well as a variety of systematics courses like Herpetology and Mammalogy.

At Alderson Broaddus, we are blessed to have nature close at hand.  We have acres of eastern deciduous forest in which to study and play both on campus and off.  We are minutes from Pleasant Creek WMA, Teter Creek Lake WMA and Audra State Park.  The 921,000 acre Monongahela National Forest is just 45 minutes away.  All this makes myself and my fellow nature lovers happy campers.....literally!

"......and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly."  The less famous ending to the famous John Muir quote encapsultes my role as a professor at ABU.  I hope to help my students work and learn while they play in the wilds of wonderful West Virginia.
